We (Abby and I) wanted to make a paper Mache project. We were thinking that a snake would a great idea, since it was an inside joke between us. We create this snake by first building the structure from paper towels rolls. Then, we taped the rolls together, creating its structure. Then, we paper mached the paper towel rolls with newspaper first, then paper towel on top. We attached these with the paper Mache glue. Lastly, we used acrylic paints and our painting skills to make the different colors, which gave it texture, and distinct features on it. This project took about two weeks to complete. I learned how to paper Mache; you have to mix the dark paint into the light, and paper Mache takes a long time to complete. The piece turned out FABULOUS! The only two things which bothered me, a bit, was the snake is a bit unbalanced and the fangs are not how I envisioned them to turn out.
